Can you sell the idea to the kids that it's science to do the dishes? Look kids, were going to leave one dish unwashed and wash the rest. Which ones will grow slime? I say yes.
Curdled milk is easy to produce - how to explain what happened scientifically is not so easy.
I remember my grandmother (after being bombarded for several days with questions from a 4-year-old) answered the question, "what does pasteurize mean?" by saying that pasteurized milk comes from cows who live in a pasture. Needless to say the mother of this child was furious and proceeded to explain to her son that pasteurized milk had been heated to kill harmful microorganisms that could make you sick, etc. etc.
Hi, I'm Cindy. I am a homeschool mom to two wonderful (wink, wink) children. My son bounces through life in an ADHD vortex and my daughter plans to take over the world any day now. I live in the burbs with my husband, the munchkins and a little white dog. I never thought I'd live in the burbs. I never thought I'd homeschool. I never thought I'd own a small dog (emphasis on the small). How Did I Get Here seemed like an appropriate title to me. I'm still scratching my head over how I ended up homeschooling in the burbs while cleaning up puppy poop. Loving it, though. Lots of love. Lots of laughs. Lots of lunacy.
